Benefit in Saratoga: Thank You for 18 Amazing Years!
The AIDS Council of Northeastern New York acknowledges the countless individuals, businesses, organizations and friends for supporting its Benefit in Saratoga for the past 18 years. From the very first Benefit in Saratoga, held at the Victorian Gothic home of Wallace and Jane Altes back in 1991, to the festive luau held in 2008 at the majestic Hall of Springs, the Benefit in Saratoga was an annual fĂȘte marking the beginning of the Saratoga track season, and attended by long-time supporters including Mary Lou Whitney, Ed Lewi, Michele Riggi and other Spa City notables.
In 1997, Barry and Sheryl Schwartz joined the cause, beginning a remarkable twelve-year run as Honorary Chairs of the Benefit in Saratoga. Their support and generosity helped raise both funds for and awareness of the AIDS epidemic in northeastern New York. We thank the Schwartzes for their leadership and kindness over many years, and for sharing their influence and hearts to benefit people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
